    Our story is one of vision and commitment that began with the founding members over a century ago and is still thriving within the membership today. For over thirteen decades club members have embraced and influenced life at the club, creating a legacy for tomorrow. Building upon a rich heritage and developing traditions shared by members, their children, and grandchildren.

    Founded in 1883, the Alta Club is a landmark institution situated in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. The Club is located on the historically significant South Temple Street and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This city center location is within walking distance of theaters, museums, and shopping, with convenient access to city transportation and the airport. A beautiful home awaits members. The Alta Club is an inviting and comfortable place for social and business meetings, private events, dining, art viewing, fitness activities, guest room accommodations, and more. All of this lies just beyond the stone archways and marble columns that grace the entry where community and club life meet to form the Alta Club experience.

    Our location in the heart of downtown Salt Lake makes the Alta Club an ideal gathering spot for members to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our culinary team strives to create innovative cuisine designed to please your palette. There is a dining style for every member whether you're dining in The McCarthey Bar, Eccles Grill, or Main Dining Room. These areas are filled with beautiful architecture and craftsmanship, and are maintained to the highest standards.

    Stay With Us

    The Alta Club has 20 exquisite hotel rooms with a layout that is unique and furnished in 20th Century Mission style. These are available for you and your sponsored guests. Your friends, family, and business associates will be treated to the Alta Club experience. Complimentary use of the fitness center and the business center are included.

    Host an Event

    We have over 9 private event/dining rooms that can be used for business meetings, conferences, weddings, receptions, fund raising galas, family dinners, birthday parties, bridal showers. We are able to accommodate groups up to 150. Our team is happy to personalize your needs.
