A Message from the Board of Directors
The Alta Club Board of Directors Invitation to Membership
The Alta Club’s Board of Directors invites you to become a member of our amazing Club. The Club was organized in 1883 and remains one of the most historical private clubs in the world. It continues to be a place for stakeholders in our community to meet and discuss big ideas.
The Club has hosted U. S. Presidents, Ambassadors, Consul Generals and the leaders of many foreign nations. Many blue chip companies organize meetings and host social events at the Club on a regular basis.
The Alta Club organizes a Club Night each month when prominent speakers are invited to a reception, a dinner and to address Club members and their guests. The Club also organizes City Club Encounters and Lunch and Learns where prominent members of our community speak to Club members and their guests at a luncheon once or twice a month.
The Alta Club Arts Foundation preserves the Club’s art collection and curates exhibits that include loaned pieces which are attended by more than 25,000 people on a yearly basis. The Foundation has also organized a Library Forum Committee that invites speakers to address Club members and their guests about books and the liberal arts in the Club’s attractive library.
Alta Club members also meet and coalesce around clubs within the Club including skiing, Bridge, darts, hiking, and yoga, as well as socialize during Appy Hour, Wine and Whisky appreciation and cheer during televised sporting events. The Club has a movie night and many outside organizations who have Alta Club members meet regularly in our historic building.
The Alta Club remains a beehive of activity that includes not only our valued members but others in the community who have made the Alta Club a crossroads within the city. Please join us!
